Raw milk from quality sources is advocated by proponents of traditional whole foods diets such as the Weston A. Price Foundation, and in the last few years has gained popularity in natural foods markets, CSAs, and food buying clubs.  In spite of what appears to be a lack of evidence that raw milk is dangerous, the FDA and CDC, along with local law enforcement made a military-style raid on Rawesome Foods in Venice California on Wednesday August 3rd, 2011. The founder James Stewart was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, and the store’s inventory of unpasturized milk was destroyed. (via Natural News) Below, a close associate of Mr. Stewart describes the raid:

The action has generated a rallying cry from the whole foods communities with demonstrations staged at the courthouse where Mr. Stewart is being arraigned on felony charges.

Marc McAfee’s dairy produces unpasteurized milk from grass fed cows, and distributes across California and Nevada. He was interviewed at the courthouse:

Natural News, who broke this story on Wednesday, is following the developments closely, and features access to more information on what they describe as “government terrorists who are destroying our food, destroying our freedoms and declaring war on farmers and food sellers! Tweet the following hash mark terms: #rawesome and #farmageddon as you link to the stories, interviews, videos and other elements of this campaign.”

Ayurveda is the oldest healing system in the world, with more than five thousand years' contiguous practice in South Asia and around the world. Aimed at ultimate vitality, Ayurveda has a refined diagnostic system, and the fundamental treatments are dietary and lifestyle modifications, as well as bodywork therapy and awareness practices. According to Ayurveda, milk is considered a nearly perfect food served raw and warm with digestive spices such as cumin and coriander and tonic herbs including ashwaganda.

The Hatha Yoga Pradipika, one of the earliest texts describing the practices of yoga, also includes milk as an ideal yogi's food supporting long retreat. These ancient systems presume that one can easily procure fresh raw milk from healthy animals, as pasteurized or cold milk is considered to create pathogenic mucous which leads to foggy thinking, weight gain, and even tumors.

This bold move by the FDA to confiscate and destroy whole milk is not only a threat to our freedom to opt-out of commercial agri-business, but also directly contradicts thousands of years of healing studies, impairing modern practitioners carrying the lineages of these ancient sciences.
